Karuna Panumes (b. 1967)
Karuna
Panumes explores the human face as a meeting place between inner emotion and
the external world. Light and shadow often filtered through leaves, lace, or
ornamental patterns—fall across her subjects, transforming the portrait into a
layered psychological landscape in which identity is simultaneously revealed
and concealed.
In In the
Light Shadow, presented at Number 1 Gallery in 2009, the shifting
relationship between the face, natural forms, and projected patterns evokes
memory, solitude, and the fragile nature of perception. Through restrained
compositions and atmospheric illumination, Panumes invites viewers to look
beyond physical appearance toward the quieter emotional states held beneath the
visible surface.

กรุณา ภาณุเมศ สำรวจใบหน้ามนุษย์ในฐานะพื้นที่ซึ่งอารมณ์ภายในมาบรรจบกับโลกภายนอก แสงและเงาที่ลอดผ่านใบไม้ ลูกไม้ หรือลวดลายประดับตกกระทบบนใบหน้าของบุคคล เปลี่ยนภาพเหมือนให้กลายเป็นภูมิทัศน์ทางจิตใจซึ่งตัวตนถูกเปิดเผยและปกปิดในเวลาเดียวกัน
