Kriangkrai Wongpitirat (b. 1966)

Kriangkrai Wongpitirat explores Buddhist philosophy through a refined visual language of sacred geometry, symbolic figures, architectural forms, and contemplative space. Working in pale, luminous tones enriched with gold leaf, he transforms familiar elements of Buddhist art into quiet contemporary compositions.

His works reflect on birth, enlightenment, spiritual protection, and the relationship between the human body and the sacred realm. Presented in the 2007 solo exhibition Silpa-Dham at Number 1 Gallery, this body of work forms part of the gallery’s early history and its engagement with contemporary interpretations of Thai Buddhist art.

เกรียงไกร วงปิติรัตน์ ถ่ายทอดหลักคิดทางพุทธศาสนาผ่านภาษาทัศนศิลป์อันประณีต ซึ่งประกอบด้วยเรขาคณิตศักดิ์สิทธิ์ บุคคลเชิงสัญลักษณ์ รูปทรงสถาปัตยกรรม และพื้นที่แห่งการภาวนา ด้วยโทนสีอ่อนสว่างและการใช้ทองคำเปลว เขานำองค์ประกอบของพุทธศิลป์มาตีความใหม่ในบริบทร่วมสมัยที่สงบนิ่ง

ผลงานของเขาพิจารณาเรื่องการเกิด การตรัสรู้ การคุ้มครองทางจิตวิญญาณ และความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างร่างกายมนุษย์กับพื้นที่ศักดิ์สิทธิ์ ผลงานชุดที่จัดแสดงในนิทรรศการเดี่ยว Silpa-Dham ณ Number 1 Gallery เมื่อ พ.ศ. 2550 นับเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของประวัติศาสตร์ยุคแรกของแกลเลอรีและการนำเสนอพุทธศิลป์ไทยในมุมมองร่วมสมัย
