GHOST FROM THE PAST [N.]
Accordingly, the phrase "Ghost from the Past" does not refer to spirits or ghosts, but is a metaphor for memories, situa-tions, or mistakes from the past that exist in the mind and affect current feelings. It is as if these memories haunt us, whe-ther they are painful recollections or someone who has long gone but still influences our thoughts, both in daily life and in dreams.

Number 1 Gallery proudly presents “Ghost from the Past”, a solo exhibition by Naphadanai Chiravatchanon. This exhibi-tion conveys the artist's feelings of guilt and unresolved emotions through different symbols, with ‘a woman tying a white ribbon’ as the main representative of memories and feelings that never fade. All of the paintings are presented in the form of movie scenes to reflect the idea that life is like a movie, filled with many events and emotions. Each image is like a scene of a story that connects with others.
Although the painting uses the image of the relationship between a man and a woman as the core of the narrative, it is actually a metaphor to open space for the audience to interpret through their own experiences, whether it be about love, family, friendship, or losses.

Ultimately, Ghost from the Past does not invite you to stay in the past, but rather encourages you to see the value of the ‘present.’
Because the past is merely a scene in life, a lesson that shapes our identity, and an impulse that drives us to move forward.

ณ ที่นี้ คําว่า Ghost from the Past ไม่ได้หมายถึงภูตผี แต่เป็นสํานวนที่เปรียบเปรยถึงความทรงจำ เหตุการณ์ หรือความผิดพลาดในอดีตที่ยังคงติดค้างอยู่ในใจ และส่งผลต่อความรู้สึกในปัจจุบัน ราวกับเป็นสิ่งที่คอยหลอกหลอน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นความทรงจำ
อันเจ็บปวด หรือใครบางคนที่จากไปนานแล้ว แต่ยังคงมีอิทธิพลต่อความคิด ทั้งในชีวิตประจำวันและในความฝัน

นัมเบอร์วันแกลลอรี่ ร่วมด้วยศิลปิน นภดนัย จิราวัชร์ชานนท์ กับนิทรรศการ “Ghost from the Past” ซึ่งถ่ายทอดความรู้สึกผิดและความค้างคาใจของศิลปินผ่านสัญลักษณ์ต่าง ๆ โดยมี ‘ผู้หญิงผูกริบบิ้นสีขาว’ เป็นตัวแทนหลักของความทรงจำและความรู้สึกที่
ไม่เคยเลือนหาย ผลงานทั้งหมดถูกนําเสนอในลักษณะของฉากภาพยนตร์ เพื่อสะท้อนแนวคิดที่ว่า ชีวิตก็เหมือนภาพยนตร์
เรื่องหนึ่ง ซึ่งเต็มไปด้วยเหตุการณ์และอารมณ์ที่หลากหลาย แต่ละภาพจึงเป็นเหมือนฉากหนึ่งของเรื่องราวที่เชื่อมโยงกัน
แม้งานจะใช้ภาพของความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างชายและหญิงเป็นแกนในการเล่าเรื่อง แต่แท้จริงแล้วเป็นเพียงอุปมาอุปไมย 
เพื่อเปิดพื้นที่ให้ผู้ชมตีความผ่านประสบการณ์ของตนเอง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเรื่องของความรัก ครอบครัว มิตรภาพ หรือความสูญเสีย

ท้ายที่สุด Ghost from the Past ไม่ได้ชวนให้จมอยู่กับอดีต หากแต่ชวนให้มองเห็นคุณค่าของ ‘ปัจจุบัน’ 
เพราะอดีตเป็นเพียงฉากหนึ่งของชีวิต เป็นบทเรียนที่หล่อหลอมตัวตน และเป็นสิ่งที่ผลักดันให้เราเดินหน้าต่อไป
