He want to learn how to think of human life through history and human behavior. By communicating through the look of traditional painting with the style of Baroque-Rococo painting. ผดุงศักดิ์ เขียวผ่อง ศิลปินจากวิทยาลัยเพาะช่าง ด้วยพื้นเพของศิลปินชาวจันทบุรีที่ถูกหล่อหลอมด้วยสิ่งแวดล้อม ธรรมชาติ วิถีชนบทที่บริสุทธิ์ แบบถ่องแท้ จนกระทั่งเขามีจังหวะที่เข้ามาใช้ชีวิตในเมือง ในกรุงเทพ จึงได้ค้นพบวิถีความเป็นมนุษย์ ที่โหยหาความเจริญ จึงได้สร้างโลกในอุดมคติเพื่อจัดการพื้นที่อยู่อาศัยและสังคม จึงทำให้นำไปสู่การครอบงำตัวตนของมนุษย์ สร้างดินแดนที่เผ่าพันธุ์มนุษย์ต้องการ จนเจริญเติบโตขยายพื้นที่และมีผลกระทบต่อระบบนิเวศ เข้าใกล้ความวิบัติของระบบนิเวศ จึงเป็นที่เปรียบเทียบการซึมซับของการเป็นมนุษย์ระหว่างที่เขาเคยได้ซึมซับจากพื้นเพของเขา ตัวศิลปินจึงสื่อออกมาเป็นงานศิลปะ โดยศึกษา วิธีคิด การดำเนินชีวิตของมนุษย์ข้างต้น ผ่านประวัติศาสตร์และพฤติกรรมของมนุษย์ โดยสื่อสารผ่านรูปลักษณ์ของงานจิตรกรรมแบบดั้งเดิมที่มีลักษณะรูปแบบของจิตรกรรมยุคบาโรก-ร็อกโคโค มีการเล่าเรื่องในลักษณะของการแสดงออกมาคล้ายคลึงกับละครเวทีซึ่งมีการตีความผ่านแนวคิด โดยเทคนิคการนำเสนอใช้การแสดงของตัวละครให้อยู่ในบริบทที่กำหนดเรื่องราวขึ้น ซึ่งมีพื้นฐานมาจากสังคมมนุษย์ที่มีความซับซ้อน มีการจัดระเบียบสังคมผ่านโครงสร้างทางสังคมที่มีมรดกทางประวัติศาสตร์ เช่น การเมือง วัฒนธรรม ประเพณี จารีตเป็นต้น ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการดำรงชีพของมนุษย์ จึงมีมุมมองในการนำเสนอที่ใช้ลักษณะการแสดงละครมาใช้นั้น เพื่อตั้งคำถามถึงวิธีคิดและพฤติกรรมของมนุษย์ที่มีธรรมชาติของการอยู่กับสังคมที่ถูกจำลองหรือสังคมที่ตนมีสิทธิ์สามารถอุปโลกน์โลกของตัวเองได้ ซึ่งท้ายที่สุดเขาพบว่า ตัวเขาเองที่พยายามอุปโลกน์เรื่องราว ปัญหาของโลกในอุดมคติ
ผลงานของผดุงศักดิ์ เขียวผ่อง เป็นผลงานที่มีสุนทรียภาพความงามแบบผลงานขั้นสูง ซุกซ่อนเรื่องราวต่างๆ ภายใต้ความงดงามซึ่งสอดคล้องกับแนวความคิด มีความโดดเด่นจนได้รับรางวัลและร่วมแสดงนิทรรศการ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นรางวัลดีเด่นการประกวดจิตรกรรมร่วมสมัยพานาโซนิคครั้งที่ 19, ร่วมแสดงการประกวดศิลปินรุ่นเยาว์ ครั้งที่ 30 ณ หอศิลป์สนามจันทร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร และอื่นๆ อีกมากมาย
