Corpse Smile

นิทรรศการเดี่ยว “Corpse Smile” โดย อานนท์ เลิศพูลผล นำเสนอภาพผลงานจิตรกรรมสีน้ำมัน ด้วยผืนผ้าใบที่มีทั้งฝีแปรงซ้ำและย้ำอย่างฉับไว หรือการเน้นพื้นที่ว่างด้วยสีที่ฉูดฉาด เพื่อสร้างพื้นผิว จังหวะ และความหลากหลายทางเทคนิคที่สื่อถึงอารมณ์ ซึ่งในครั้งนี้ ศิลปินให้ความสำคัญไปที่การออกแบบกระบวนการที่มีความเป็นระเบียบแบบแผนและการทำซ้ำ ปะติดปะต่อรวมกันเสมือนภาพที่ถูกผลิตซ้ำ เพื่อเป็นตัวแทนความหมายของความเป็นกองทัพ ทหาร และผลกระทบซ้ำ ๆ จากสงคราม โดยวิเคราะห์จากลักษณะเฉพาะของกิจกรรม พฤติกรรม หรือกายภาพที่สังเกตเห็นได้ เช่น การทำตามคำสั่ง บุก ยิง ถอย หยุด การมีข้อกำหนดกฎเกณฑ์ ความมีวินัย เป็นต้น เพื่อออกแบบเป็นเทคนิคและรูปแบบการผลิตผลงานที่ใช้กระบวนการทำซ้ำ ๆ ถูกย้ำด้วยจำนวน ขั้นตอน ที่เริ่มต้นและจบลงเหมือนกัน ไม่ออกนอกกรอบหรือพลิกแพลงขั้นตอนจากแผนงานที่กำหนด ใช้เงื่อนไขของกระบวนการทางจิตรกรรมเป็นสิ่งที่มาบังคับการแสดงออก เป็นสาระสำคัญเพื่อสื่อสารความหมายมากกว่าการเล่าด้วยสถานการณ์หรือผลลัพธ์ที่เสร็จสมบูรณ์จากข้อเท็จจริง เพื่อย้ายสภาวะความเกรงกลัวนี้ไปอยู่บนผลงานจิตรกรรม เปรียบราวกับว่าความรู้สึกถึงทหารได้มาปะทะอยู่เบื้องหน้า และกำลังคุกคามเข้ามาในชีวิต

จากสถานการณ์โลกที่เกิดสงครามทำให้เกิดความหวาดกลัวและวิตกกังวล ความปลอดภัยของชีวิต เศรษฐกิจ การอพยพย้ายถิ่น ความอดอยาก ซึ่งไม่สามารถดูเหตุการณ์ ณ ปัจจุบัน แล้วสามารถตัดสินความถูกหรือผิดได้ เมื่อย้อนมองกลับไปดูประวัติศาสตร์แล้ว เพื่อให้เห็นถึงความเชื่อมโยงแต่ละเหตุการณ์ที่ส่งผลมาถึงสงครามปัจจุบัน ชาติมหาอำนาจกับฉายา “ตำรวจโลก” ที่สั่งสมมาตั้งแต่สมัยหลังสงครามโลก มักเข้าไปเกี่ยวข้อง คอยอยู่เบื้องหลังอย่างสม่ำเสมอ หากตั้งคำถามว่าพวกเขาทำทั้งหมดนี้ไปเพื่ออะไร คำตอบที่สั้นและตรงที่สุดอาจเป็น “เสรีภาพ” วาทกรรมเพื่อหาความชอบธรรมในการทำภารกิจต่าง ๆ แท้จริงแล้วอาจเป็นเพียงการดิ้นรนเอาตัวรอดทางเศรษฐกิจ การเมือง หรือการแก้เกมทางภูมิรัฐศาสตร์ แบ่งขั้วอำนาจ เพื่อให้ได้ผลประโยชน์ที่ยิ่งกว่าเดิม ไม่ใช่การป้องกันแผ่นดินแต่อย่างใด ไม่สนใจความถูกผิด หรือศีลธรรมใด ๆ

จาก “ภาพ” ข้อมูลข่าวสาร ผู้เสียชีวิต เมืองที่เคยสมบูรณ์กลายเป็นเมืองร้างในหลายประเทศ ฯลฯ แม้จะไม่ได้เป็นประสบการณ์ที่รับโดยตรง แต่ภาพเหล่านี้ก็สื่อสารความหมายและส่งผลทางอารมณ์ความรู้สึก เริ่มจากความเศร้า หดหู่ สงสาร แม้ดูเป็นเรื่องไกลตัว แต่เมื่อสำรวจลึกลงไปแล้วกลับพบเจอความรู้สึกอีกระดับคือ ความกลัว ความรุนแรงเหล่านั้นไม่ได้สร้างความเสียหายแค่ในสมรภูมิที่ดำเนินอยู่ แต่คุกคามมาถึงจิตใจของศิลปินด้วยเช่นกัน ซึ่งกลไกหลักของความรุนแรงหรือกองทัพทหาร ที่มีการฝึกฝนความเป็นระบบระเบียบ วินัย การทำตามคำสั่ง บางครั้งอาจต้องพบกับปัญหาความขัดแย้งทางคุณธรรม ความถูกหรือผิด แต่เป็นคำสั่งที่ไม่อาจฝ่าฝืน หรืออีกนัยหนึ่งคือ ความขาดเสรีภาพ เช่นเดียวกับผู้รับผลกระทบ ที่เลือกไม่ให้เกิดสงคราม หรือฝืนความเป็นตายจากภัยสงครามไม่ได้เช่นเดียวกัน

อานนท์ เลิศพูลผล ปัจจุบันดำรงตำแหน่งอาจารย์ประจำภาควิชาจิตรกรรม คณะจิตรกรรมประติมากรรมและภาพพิมพ์ จบการศึกษา ศิลปบัณฑิต สาขาวิชาทัศนศิลป์ กลุ่มวิชาเอกจิตรกรรมคณะจิตรกรรมประติมากรรมและภาพพิมพ์ และ ศิลปมหาบัณฑิต บัณฑิตวิทยาลัย มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร อานนท์ได้มีผลงานสร้างชื่อจากการได้รับรางวัลยอดเยี่ยมอันดับ 3 การประกวดผลงานจิตรกรรมร่วมสมัยพานาโซนิค “สร้างสรรค์เพื่อความสมบูรณ์แห่งชีวิต” ครั้งที่ 20 พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติหอศิลป์ กรุงเทพฯ (2561) และ รางวัลยอดเยี่ยมอันดับ 1 การประกวดผลงานจิตรกรรมร่วมสมัยพานาโซนิค “สร้างสรรค์เพื่อความสมบูรณ์แห่งชีวิต” ครั้งที่ 21 พิพิธภัณฑสถานแห่งชาติหอศิลป กรุงเทพฯ (2562) นอกจากนั้นยังมีผลงานการแสดงผลงานนิทรรศการเดี่ยว “ดีพร้อม” ณ People’s Gallery ชั้น 2 หอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร BACC (2562) รวมไปถึงการแสดงผลงานในเวทีต่างประเทศ เช่น Art Busan, South Korea (2566)

“Corpse Smile” the solo exhibition by Arnont Lertpullpol, presenting oil painting with the canvas that has repeated brush lines rapidly or emphasized an empty space with vivid colors in order to create the surface, rymthm and a variety in techniques that indicates emotion. Hence this time the artist heightened the design of processes which are orderly organized and repetitious; patching and combining as it was a replicated artwork and to be representative as the meaning of military and recurrent effects from wars. With an analysis of particular circumstances in activities, behavior or visibly physical characters for instance to be under control to attack, shoot, retract and stop, to have regulations and discipline etc. to form a technique and a type of production to be effective in a particular procedure of repetition which had been executed over and over again by amounts, the same initial and final processes; not to be out of the box or manage to unfollow a fixed procedure. Using a condition of painting processes to control an expression as it is an essential matter to convey the meaning than explaining with a situation or an outcome from a complete truth in order to transfer a state of fearfulness to be on the work as if it was a feeling of being attacked by an army in front of us and intimidated our lives.

From the global war situation that frightened and stressed us; the safety in our lives, economy, immigration and starvation which we are not able to watch the situation in the present and easily judge what is right and wrong. In fact when we look back on the history and to noticeably comprehend the connection of each situation in which has affected until now. It is a powerful country with his nickname as “Global policeman” that has been accumulated since world war, they are likely involved and constantly backup. Anywise if questioning on what purpose they do it for, the shortest and the absolute straight answer is “freedom”. Discourse to seek righteousness in different missions, it is honestly a struggle to survive in economy, politics or a game of geopolitics or a power division to gain a greater benefit in which is not for protecting the land but ignore the goodness or morality.

From an “image” of news information, fatality and a city that used to be resourceful but became abandoned in many countries etc. although it might not be a direct impact but these images can express the meaning and explicitly affect the feelings of sadness, depression and empathy. Even though it may be an unreachable matter but after cautiously studies it was found in another level of feelings which is fear, and those violences are not only destroying in an ongoing battlefield but awfully affecting artist’s mentality as well. Therefore the major system of violence or military that has been trained in their systems, discipline and orders sometimes they may face the problem and conflict of moral and righteousness, but since it was an order it cannot be deniable. In other words it is a lack of freedom as well as a victim who cannot choose not to let the war happened or deny deaths from the war.

Arnont Lertpullpol, a currently professor of painting, faculty of painting, sculpture and printing. He graduated Bachelor’s degree of Arts, faculty of visual arts, majority of painting from faculty of painting, sculpture and printing. Master of Arts, postgraduate degree, Silpakorn University. Anon has a well known artwork from a winning third runner-up award in “creating for a perfection of life, the 20th Panasonic contemporary painting competition at the national gallery, Bangkok (2018) and a first runner-up from “creating for a perfection of life, the 21st Panasonic contemporary painting competition at the national gallery, Bangkok (2019). Moreover he had his solo exhibition “Goodness” at People’s Gallery, on the 2nd floor of Bangkok Art and culture center BACC (2019) and many exhibitions in different countries such as Art Busan, South Korea (2023)
