I Am You

Prawit Lumcharoen is back with the new solo exhibition under the title of “I am You”, repeating images of the memorable and significant work of “WIT”, the pseudonym of a fat boy character with his hilarious facial expression along with a body that covered by a shimmer of metallic colors (synthetic colors) which represents a human in a modern world. Moreover, the typical character has created to be similar to an artist himself. This solo exhibition I am You, the artist recreated a simulated situation and a new story with the character that has mentioned above and making WIT to be ridiculing and persuasively participated in the language of the original work in his individual style.

Under I am You” exhibition Prawit Lumcharoen presents an oil painting, expressing through a recreating simulated situation by making WIT fit in a certain situation in order to replace or compare to his favorite artists works for instance “My balloon, after Girl with balloon, Banksy” 109x145 cm. relating to a story of losing hope, dreams, love and innocence, the language of Banksy work with the title “There is always hope”. An artist recreated a story and an imagination to connect with the work that a girl is losing her balloon yet, there is another person brings back her balloon. And “Single mom, after Andrew Wyeth, 140x170 cm.” “Christina’s world 1948” the famous work of Andrew Wyeth. An artist recreated the work with an Asian female lying down on the ground in a big field without trees, full of isolation and loneliness, a desperate atmosphere among her children. However, each work of him tended to be ridiculing, regarding and connecting with those globally significant artworks in the world of art, sculptures and several photographs. Stepping into the world of favorite arts, to the unique expression, recreated them to be his own original work and turned to be this exhibition “I am You”

ประวิทย์ ล้ำเจริญ กลับมาอีกครั้งในนิทรรศการเดี่ยวภายใต้ชื่อ “I am You” ตอกย้ำกับภาพจำของผลงานที่มีเอกลักษณ์และโดดเด่น “WIT” คือชื่อนามแฝงคาแร็กเตอร์ของเด็กอ้วนที่มีใบหน้า ยียวนชวนขบขัน พร้อมทั้งสีเมทัลลิค(สีสังเคราะห์)ความมันวาวที่ถูกชุบไปทั่วร่างกาย เปรียบเสมือนตัวแทนของ มนุษย์แห่งโลกยุคใหม่ อีกทั้งออกแบบตัวคาแร็กเตอร์ให้มีลักษณะทางกายภาพให้คล้ายคลึงกับตัวศิลปินเอง ซึ่ง นิทรรศการแสดงเดี่ยวในครั้งนี้ I am You ฉันคือคุณ ศิลปินได้นำคาแร็กเตอร์ที่กล่าวมาข้างต้น มาสร้างเหตุการณ์ จำลองเหตุการณ์สร้างสตรอรี่ขึ้นมาใหม่ ให้ WIT ได้หยอกล้อหรือคล้อยตามมีส่วนร่วมตาม ภาษาภาพของผลงาน ต้นฉบับ มาสร้างสรรค์ในรูปแบบเฉพาะของศิลปินเอง

ภายในนิทรรศการ “I am You” ประวิทย์ นำเสนอผลงานจิตรกรรมสีน้ำมันบอกเล่าเรื่องราวผ่านจำการลองเหตุการณ์ขึ้นมาใหม่ โดยให้ WIT กระโดดเข้าไปอยู่ในเหตุการณ์นั้นเพื่อแทนที่หรือเทียบเคียงผลงานของศิลปินระดับโลกที่ชื่นชอบ ดังเช่น ภาพผลงาน “My balloon, after Girl with balloon, Banksy”109x145cm. เป็นเรื่องราวของความหลุดลอยของความหวัง ความฝัน ความรักและความบริสุทธิ์ คือภาษาภาพในผลงานของ Banksy ที่มีชื่อผลงานว่า There is always hope. ศิลปินได้สร้างเรื่องราว จินตนาการ เชื่อมต่อภาพของเด็กผู้หญิงกับลูกโป่งที่หลุดลอยไป แต่มีอีกหนึ่งตัวละครช่วยเก็บลูกโป่งกลับคืนมา และ “Single mom, after Andrew Wyeth,140X170 cm.” จากผลงานจิตรกรรม “Christina‘s world 1948” อันโด่งดังของ Andrew Wyeth  ศิลปินได้นำมาดัดแปลงใหม่เกิดเป็นภาพผู้หญิงเอเชียกับท่าเอนกายบนพื้นในทุ่งที่ไร้ต้นไม้ ความเวิ้งว้าง โดดเดี่ยว บรรยากาศที่ไม่สดใสกับเหล่าลูกๆ ของเธอ โดยผลงานในแต่ละชิ้นศิลปินได้หยอกล้อ คล้อยตามและสร้างการมีส่วนร่วมจากภาษาภาพของผลงานอันเลื่องชื่อเหล่านั้น  ทั้งในโลกศิลปะ งานประติมากรรม หรือแม้แต่ภาพถ่ายอีกมากมาย การก้าวกระโดดเข้าสู่โลกของผลงานที่ชื่นชอบเหล่านั้น ถ่ายทอด สร้างสรรค์ออกมาเป็นผลงานในแบบฉบับของศิลปิน เกิดเป็นนิทรรศการ “I am You”
