Exhibition

“Imaginary Land” is the second solo exhibition of Phadungsak Kheawpong, the artist from Chantaburi province. According to his previous “Assumed” exhibition, his art works are relatable to what he had faced, during his life in a big city. The main content is more about human society and the conventional truth for instance politics, rituals, and cultures. The artist had studied about historical heritages with the aim of exposing the real inner society and expressed about the reality of the world through his characteristically imagination with the symbols of humans, animals and things both existence and inexistence.

This “Imaginary Land” exhibition, the artist represented the aspect of Utopia island which he created by his own notion. Each island in each piece of work is signified as different perspectives based on the true story of the artist along with the sense of imagination as well as a self talk space. According to the "Victim" work, the artist created a land with the condition of the world as it is a fragile bubble and waiting for the day to burst. A white barking deer staring is signified as a connection with the audience. 

In other words, it is a client who inquires about human’s sin. The background is inspired by "Yellow sand" of Robert Huskisson, which mentioned about the fairies in the woods, incredibility and the power of nature. The object on the table is indicated the story of the artist’s assumption which he tried to put in the symbols instead of the truth. It can be told that this is the art of self conversation space that influenced by memories and imaginations as it is a diary of dreams which complied by subconscious mind. Moreover, he had accumulated to get expressed through the art work on creating Utopia Island. The artist is god himself who is able to create or destroy everything in his individual thought and world.   

“Imaginary Land” นิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งที่ 2 ของผดุงศักดิ์ เขียวผ่อง ศิลปินจากจันทบุรี สืบเนื่องจากนิทรรศการ “Assumed” ด้วยจังหวะของศิลปินที่ได้เข้ามาใช้ชีวิตในเมือง งานจึงมีเนื้อหาเกี่ยวข้องกับเรื่องของสังคมมนุษย์ โดยสนใจในเรื่องสมมุติสัจจะ สิ่งสมมุติที่มนุษย์สร้างขึ้นเช่น การเมือง ประเพณี วัฒนธรรม โดยศึกษาผ่านมรดกทางประวัติศาสตร์ มุ่งประเด็นในการกระเทาะเปลือกสังคม ศิลปินมุ่งเน้นไปในการเล่าเรื่องของภาวะโลก ด้วยมุมมองจากจินตนาการของศิลปินเอง ผ่านสัญลักษณ์ คน สัตว์ สิ่งของทั้งที่มีอยู่จริงและไม่มีจริง

สำหรับนิทรรศการ “Imaginary Land” ในครั้งนี้ ศิลปินนำเสนอลักษณะของเกาะยูโทเปียที่ศิลปินสร้างขึ้นบนโต๊ะความคิด ซึ่งเกาะในแต่ละชิ้นงานแสดงถึงมุมมอง บ่งบอกเรื่องราวของโลกและชิวิตของศิลปิน ขนานไปพร้อมกันด้วยมุมมองของฉากในจินตนาการ เรียกได้ว่าเป็นพื้นที่การสนทนาระหว่างตัวตน เห็นได้จากภาพ “Victim” ศิลปินสร้างดินแดนภายใต้เนื้อหาของภาวะโลกที่เปรียบดั่ง ฟองสบู่ที่เบาบางและรอวันแตกสลาย เก้งเผือกที่จ้องมอง แทนการสื่อสารกับคนดู ตั้งคำถามกับสมมุติฐานนี้ อีกนัยยะหนึ่ง เสมือนเหยื่อผู้ไถ่ถามถึงบาปของมนุษย์ ฉากหลังประกอบจากผลงาน “Yellow sand” ของ Robert Huskisson ที่บอกเล่าถึงภูตไม้ ความมหัศจรรย์และอำนาจของธรรมชาติ ประกอบกับวัตถุบนโต๊ะที่แสดงถึงเรื่องราวตามเนื้อหาสมมุติฐานของศิลปินที่พยายามแทรกสัญลักษณ์แทนภาวะของความเป็นจริง อาจพูดได้ว่าเป็นพื้นที่การสนทนาระหว่างตัวตนที่มีอิทธิพลจากความทรงจำและจินตนาการ เปรียบได้กับการบันทึกความฝัน หากแต่เป็นฝันที่ถูกเรียบเรียงแล้วจากจิตสำนึก ถ่ายทอดผ่านทัศนะคติที่ต้องการสร้างเกาะยูโทเปียให้เกิดขึ้น พื้นที่ที่เปรียบเสมือนศิลปินเป็นพระเจ้าในงานที่สามารถสร้างหรือลบทุกสิ่งได้ในโลกส่วนตัวของศิลปินเอง

ผดุงศักดิ์ เขียวผ่อง ศิลปินจากมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลรัตนโกสินทร์ วิทยาลัยเพาะช่างด้วยผลงานที่มีสุนทรียภาพความงามแบบผลงานขั้นสูง ดูงดงามและซุกซ่อนเรื่องราวต่างๆ ภายใต้ความงดงาม ซึ่งสอดคล้องแนวความคิดของจนเป็นโดดเด่นจนได้รับรางวัล ดีเด่นการประกวดจิตรกรรมร่วมสมัยพาเป็นนาโซนิคครั้งที่ 19, ร่วมแสดงการประกวดศิลปินรุ่นเยาว์ ครั้งที่ 30 ณ หอศิลป์สนามจันทร์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร นอกจากนี้ยังได้เข้าร่วมแสดงผลงานอย่างต่อเนื่องไม่ว่าจะนิทรรศการลุ่ม “Love is”, "The spirit of six" โดยนัมเบอร์วันแกลเลอรี และยังเข้าร่วมแสดงผลงานใน Art fair Philippines ในปี 2020 ที่ผ่านมา
