Reflection of Desire

"Reflection of Desire", the first solo exhibition of Thinnapat Takuear, a new blood artist from Silpakorn University. In which the artists present the stories of external appearances that are often presented first because it can be perceived through the sights. Humans, therefore focused more on the expression. In today's society that values humans with objects, it leads to expectations in appearance such as to dress beautifully and to use the luxury goods with the aim of attracting attention from the others.

“All the rules that were created for women to follow are from the desire of the man who came in and dictates them to follow the rules such as wearing high heels to work in order to look elegant even though it will be painful.

In Japan, people are living in the fast paced society and it brings out the image of a woman who has to put on high heels to run to catch the train to work or to maintain her body shape to look beautiful. Also, beauty treatments such as nose surgery, chin surgery, and everything else in order to gain the interest from others. These social criteria are images of all persistence about beauty that they want to be which is in accordance with the artist's vision that the consumption is the power to spin the wheel. It can also be understood as when you have the desire for something or you wanted to have something it will lead to the competition; when we had this, we will also want that. We therefore, take turns to be the person who spins this wheel” - Thinnapat Takuear

In this exhibition The artist created the work through the painting process in a realistic style. The dessert that is smeared on the female body in the picture can be comparable to the beauty that is coated on the outside. In which the artist presents the viewpoint of the woman being abused. The abuse here are driven by the need to create the external images for the familiar beauty and accordance to the social rules, no matter if she is willing to do it or not.

“ภาพสะท้อนของความปรารถนา” นิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งแรกของ ทินพัฒน์ ทาเครือ ศิลปินรุ่นใหม่จากมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร โดยศิลปินนำเสนอเรื่องราวของภาพลักษณ์ภายนอกที่มักถูกนำเสนอเป็นอันดับแรก เพราะรับรู้ได้จากการมองเห็น มนุษย์จึงมุ่งเน้นในการแสดงออกส่วนนี้เป็นสำคัญ ในสังคมปัจจุบันที่ตีค่าของมนุษย์ด้วยวัตถุ ทำให้เกิดการคาดหวังในรูปลักษณ์ ทั้งการแต่งตัวสวยงาม การใช้ของหรูหรา ล้วนแล้วแต่มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อดึงดูดความสนใจจากผู้อื่น

"กฎเกณฑ์ที่ถูกตั้งขึ้นให้เพศหญิงต้องทำ โดยส่วนหนึ่งมาจากความต้องการของเพศชายที่เข้ามากำกับให้ผู้หญิงต้องทำตามกฎเกณฑ์บางอย่าง เช่น การแต่งหน้าไปทำงาน การใส่ส้นสูงเพื่อให้ดูสวยสง่า อันแลกมาด้วยความเจ็บปวด

ในประเทศญี่ปุ่นมีวิถีชีวิตแบบเร่งรีบ นำมาซึ่งภาพของหญิงสาวที่ต้องใส่ส้นสูงเพื่อวิ่งให้ทันรถไฟไปทำงาน หรือการควบคุมน้ำหนักให้ดูดี การเสริมความงาม ทำจมูก ตัดคาง ทำทุกอย่างเพื่อให้คนอื่นสนใจ เกณฑ์ทางสังคมเหล่านี้เป็นภาพจำภาพติดตาล้วนเกี่ยวกับความงามที่อยากจะให้เป็น นัยหนึ่งสอดคล้องกับทัศนคติของศิลปิน ด้านการบริโภคเป็นพลังในการหมุนวงล้อ กล่าวคือการอยากได้ อยากมี อยากเป็น จึงเกิดแข่งกันเพื่อคิดหาอะไรใหม่ มีสิ่งนี้ก็อยากได้สิ่งนั้นต่อ เราจึงผลัดกันเป็นคนหมุนวงล้อนี้" - ทินพัฒน์ ทาเครือ

ในนิทรรศการครั้งนี้ ศิลปินสร้างสรรค์ผลงานผ่านกระบวนการทางจิตรกรรมรูปแบบเหมือนจริง (Realistic) ของหวานที่ถูกละเลงบนร่างกายของผู้หญิงในภาพนั้นเปรียบได้กับความงามที่ถูกเคลือบอยู่ภายนอก ซึ่งศิลปินนำเสนอมุมมองในด้านของผู้หญิงที่เป็นผู้ถูกกระทำ การถูกกระทำในที่นี้มาจากการผลักดันให้ต้องสร้างภาพลักษณ์ภายนอก เพื่อความงามที่คุ้นชินและเป็นไปตามกฏเกณฑ์ของสังคมที่ควรจะเป็น ไม่ว่าจะเต็มใจหรือไม่ก็ตาม
