Living in today's society is not difficult to find chaos since the beginning until the end of the day. That would be a hasty life, economic problems, political problems, and as well as personal problems. The overpriced food and appliances and many more kinds of different problems are an inevitable faith that we cannot escape as well as the artist’s career. Frankly speaking, for them it is inevitable to face various problems to survive on each day.

The exhibition The Art of Survival by Nattiwut Choomanowat reflects the other side that shows truth but however, his aim is to show the idea of how to create the problem in the positive ways. There are no boundaries that can limit the artist’s work. These artworks may sometimes define solutions and sometimes they may not. The concept is to tell the stories of the artist’s life by using the reference from the historical stories and novels, mixed with his emotions through his technique of art to tell the story of his works.

For example, “Don’t” is using the story from the myths of Adonis and Venus and overlay it with the story of the current events that the artist will use only the expensive goods and will sacrifice anything in order to create the best quality of work even though it will affect the financial situation of his daily life somehow. However, those factors cannot stop the love that he had towards his artwork. The artist uses the image of Banana wearing a Beret to be the symbol of himself that has a delicate emotion just like the skin of the Banana which may look vivid in color but still feels very delicate. His drawing are often seen as the easy work to create. In Thai, we use "Just as easy as peeling a banana" which the closet English idiom in meaning is "A piece of cake"

Nattiwut Choomanowat holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree. From Silpakorn University. The art of survival is his 2nd single exhibition with Number 1 Gallery. The artist was the part of plenty of group exhibitions such as “The spirit of six” at Number 1 gallery, Hotel art fair 2019 and many more.

การใช้ชีวิตในสังคมปัจจุบันไม่ใช่เรื่องยากต่อการพบเจอเหตุการณ์ที่ชวนสับสนวุ่นวายตั้งแต่เริ่มต้นวันตลอดจนหมดวัน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นชีวิตที่เร่งรีบ ปัญหาเศรฐกิจปัญหาการเมืองการปกครอง ปัญหาเกี่ยวกับงานส่วนตัว ปัญหาของงานส่วนรวม ข้าวของเครื่องใช้ของใช้ที่มี ราคาแพงเกินพอดี และปัญหาอีกหลากหลายรูปแบบในลักษณะที่แตกต่างกันไป ล้วนเป็นสิ่งที่ต้องประสบอย่างหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ เส้นทางของศิลปินก็เช่นกัน หากจะพูดแบบตรงไปตรงมาคงหนีไม่พ้นการเผชิญปัญหาต่างๆ เพื่อการอยู่รอด

นิทรรศการชุด The art of survival โดย ณัฐิวุฒิ  ชูมะโนวัฒน์  สะท้อนเรื่องราวอีกด้านที่เป็นจริงหากแต่จุดมุ่งหมาย คือเเนวทางของการสร้างสรรค์ปัญหาไปในทางบวก ข้อจำกัดจากผลกระทบไม่อาจตีกรอบความสามารถการสรางสรรค์ผลงานของศิลปินได้ ผลงานชุดนี้เป็นทั้งใช่และไม่ใช่การหาคำตอบ  หากแต่เป็นการนำเสนอผลงานอันประกอบสร้างจากวิถีชีวิตของศิลปินเอง โดยใช้ข้อมูลทางประวัติศาสตร์ นิยายปกรณัม  ผนวกกับอารมณ์ความรู้สึกผ่านความหมายของเทคนิคทางจิตรกรรมในการเล่าเรื่องในแบบของศิลปิน

ดั่งผลงาน ชิ้น “ห้ามแล้วไม่ฟังบ้างเลย”  โดยท้าวความถึงต้นเรื่องของนิทานปรัมปรา อโดนิสและวีนัส ซ้อนทับเรื่องราว ด้วยเหตุการณ์ปัจุบัน ที่ศิลปินบอกเล่าเรื่องราวของจิตรกรผู้ชื่นชอบการใช้วัสดุ อุปกรณ์ที่มีราคา เพื่อคุณภาพของผลงานยอมแลกกับเงินทองแม้จะมีผลกระทบต่อการดำเนินชีวิต ก็มิอาจห้ามความรักที่มีต่องานศิลปะของศิลปินได้ โดยศิลปินเลือกใช้กล้วยสวมหมวกไบเลย์เป็นสัญลักษณ์แทนตัวตนของศิลปินที่มีอารมณ์อ่อนไหวเหมือนผิวของเปลือกกล้วยที่เหลืองสดใสแต่อ่อนไหวง่าย และการวาดภาพซักภาพของจิตรกรก็มักถูกมองว่าเป็นเรื่องง่ายๆ "ง่ายเหมือนปลอกกล้วยเข้าปาก"

ณัฐิวุฒิ  ชูมะโนวัฒน์ จบปริญญาตรีและปริญญาโท จากมหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร สำหรับ The art of survival เป็นนิทรรศการเดี่ยวครั้งที่สองกับทางนัมเบอร์วันแกลลอรี่ ศิลปินได้เข้าร่วมแสดงงานมากมาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นนิทรรศการกลุ่ม The spirit of six ทื่ Number 1 Gallery, Hotel art fair ปี 2019 และอื่นๆ อีกมากมาย
