SAHAPAP
LERTSAMATIJIT (b. 1997)
Sahapap Lertsamatijit was born in
Ratchaburi, Thailand, in 1997. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in
Painting from the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn
University, in 2021.
Working primarily in oil on linen,
Sahapap constructs surreal landscapes from human figures, anatomical fragments,
animals, plants, architecture, and symbolic objects. Drawing upon dreams and
everyday experience, his paintings explore the shifting boundary between
reality and imagination, where subconscious fears, desires, social pressures,
and the instinct for survival emerge within densely layered scenes.
From his first solo exhibition,
Formation of Nightmare (2022), to Reflections of a Nightmare (2024), his
practice has developed from examining the formation of fear toward a broader
reflection on how lived experience is transformed within dreams. His recent
series, Echoes in a Twisted Vessel (2026), employs vases and flowers as
metaphors for individual lives and accumulated experience. Alongside three solo
exhibitions with Number 1 Gallery, his work has been presented at Art Busan and
successive editions of Hotel Art Fair, marking an ongoing development within
the gallery’s represented programme.

สหภาพ เลิศสมาธิจิตร เกิดที่จังหวัดราชบุรี เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2540 สำเร็จการศึกษาศิลปบัณฑิต สาขาจิตรกรรม จากคณะจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรมและภาพพิมพ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2564
สหภาพสร้างสรรค์จิตรกรรมสีน้ำมันบนผ้าลินิน โดยประกอบสร้างภูมิทัศน์เหนือจริงจากร่างกายมนุษย์ ชิ้นส่วนทางกายวิภาค สัตว์ พืชพรรณ สถาปัตยกรรม และวัตถุเชิงสัญลักษณ์ เขานำความฝันและประสบการณ์ในชีวิตประจำวันมาสำรวจเส้นแบ่งที่ไม่มั่นคงระหว่างความจริงกับจินตนาการ เผยให้เห็นความกลัว ความปรารถนา แรงกดดันทางสังคม และสัญชาตญาณในการเอาตัวรอดผ่านภาพที่มีรายละเอียดซ้อนทับอย่างหนาแน่น
